This is the far northern edge of Nampa at the Ada County line, on open ground with new landscaping that has not filled in. Northwest wind events — the valley's most common high-wind direction — hit these north and west elevations with field dust and nothing in the way. Worth saying plainly since it comes up: the address is Nampa and we serve it as Nampa, but it sits close enough to Star that the schools are West Ada. We describe it as north Nampa near Star Road rather than calling it Star, because it is not.

Farm-field dust is the local variable, and it is seasonal

These subdivisions were carved out of working farmland and the sources say so plainly — several are ringed by fields on multiple sides. That means the dust load here is agricultural rather than urban, and it arrives on a schedule: tillage in spring, harvest in late summer, and whatever the wind lifts off bare ground in between.
