Two kinds of dust, two behaviours
Field dust off Canyon County farmground, disked and planted from March through May, is abrasive mineral grit and must never be wiped off dry, or it scratches. Construction dust is alkaline and sets slightly when wet, so rinsing smears it into a haze. New builds arrive with debris already on the glass
A newly completed Star house very often still carries mortar specks, stucco splatter, adhesive, and label residue from construction. That is a different job from routine cleaning and it should be handled before summer bakes it on, and not attacked with a blade by someone who has not checked whether the glass is tempered. If the concrete driveway alongside it was poured in the last 28 to 30 days, that's a separate hold-off, since fresh concrete is still curing.
Irrigation start-up on a system nobody has watched
New subdivisions come with new irrigation, installed to a plan and never yet observed through a full season, running off untreated Boise River canals and laterals from roughly mid-April through mid-October. Spring start-up is the moment to walk every zone and see where the heads actually throw, because on Star's small, new lots the heads often sit close enough to the foundation to fire straight at the house. That ten minutes determines how much hard water damage the glass takes by August.
Young trees, but not zero gutter work
Newly planted landscaping means gutters fill slowly, so the interval can genuinely be longer than in older parts of the valley. It does not mean never. Construction debris and wind-blown grit still collect, and along Floating Feather Road and other river-bottom parcels, mature cottonwoods add real seasonal debris that a brand-new interior lot doesn't see.
