What Grows and Settles on Four Seasons Siding

Exteriors here collect three separate things. On north and east elevations, where sun never fully dries the wall, you get algae and mildew as a green-black film. Along the bottom three feet you get mud splash and irrigation overspray staining — the same mineral that marks the glass marks the siding, and on light vinyl it reads as a permanent dingy band. Soft Wash, Not Pressure

House washing is a chemical process, not a force one. We apply a surfactant and sodium-hypochlorite blend at low pressure, give it dwell time to kill the growth at the root, and rinse. High pressure drives water up behind lap joints and into the wall assembly, strips the chalking layer off aging vinyl, and on stucco and manufactured stone it will take the finish off outright. Soft washing kills the algae rather than knocking the top off it, which is why it stays gone longer. We pre-wet and rinse every bed on the wash path. Where We Stop

Soft washing removes organic growth and dirt. It will not fix oxidised vinyl, it will not pull efflorescence out of masonry, and it does not repaint anything. We are locally owned and fully insured, and we would rather point you to the right trade than take work we cannot finish well.
