The median Nampa home was built around 2000, and a lot of that 1990s-2000s stock wears LP or Masonite hardboard lap siding and T1-11 plywood. Both swell, soften and delaminate when you hit them with high pressure. Once water gets behind the paint film and into the board, the bottom courses check, bubble and peel, and no wash fixes that. If your siding looks like fibrous cardboard at the seams or the bottom edge is swelling, that is hardboard, and it needs a low-pressure soft wash, never a pressure wand. Those get hand work: no ladders leaned on soft old fascia, gentle pressure around glazing putty and painted muntins, and never a blast at the glass. Nampa also carries the valley's heaviest share of manufactured and mobile homes, around 4.5%, with metal awnings, skirting and small sliders that dent and leak under high pressure. All of it is soft-wash surface. A Meridian playbook that blasts everything at full PSI will damage these houses.
