Canal silt carried in sprinkler overspray dries in the weave, and because the mesh is rough it holds far more of it than the glass does. Add north Meridian's open-ground wind fetch, which still carries construction and field dust off the sections that have not been built yet and pollen, and within a season the screen is carrying a grey load you can see through a freshly cleaned window. That is the complaint we hear most: 'you cleaned the glass but it still looks hazy.' It is almost always the screen. On newer builds the common finds are mesh that was never seated properly in the spline channel, and builder-grade frames that racked out of square during installation. Both are cheap to fix and we will point them out. We do not charge for a screen we cannot clean.
