Why Granite Basin Has a Hard Water Problem Specifically

This is the service this valley needs more than any other, and irrigation is the reason. Pioneer Irrigation District and Nampa & Meridian Irrigation District delivers untreated surface water to the sprinklers — silt in suspension, calcium and magnesium in solution. When a head throws onto a window the water sheets, evaporates in the dry air, and leaves the mineral as a ring. The next cycle lands on top of it. Over a season that is bonded scale; past that it is etching, where the mineral has eaten microscopic pits into the silica and is sitting inside them. What This Service Does Not Cover
