Why Surprise Valley Has a Hard Water Problem Specifically

This is the service this valley needs more than any other, and irrigation is the reason. the New York Canal system and the Boise Project delivers untreated surface water to the sprinklers — silt in suspension, calcium and magnesium in solution. When a head throws onto a window the water sheets, evaporates in the dry air, and leaves the mineral as a ring. The next cycle lands on top of it.
