A 1995 home here is approaching thirty with mature trees and original fascia. A 2016 home is barely broken in with saplings and near-new hardware. Those are not variations on a theme, they are two separate design and survey problems inside one subdivision name. We walk the individual house and quote what is actually there, and it is why comparing your number to a neighbour's can be misleading unless you are in the same phase.

Older Phases: Trees Yes, Hardware Checked

On the 1990s streets the trees carry real trunk and canopy and are the best thing to light, while the fascia and gutters have had nearly thirty Idaho winters and need checking before anything hangs on them. Both are true at once. We survey the hardware as a matter of course and open the design conversation with the trees, because on those lots they usually offer more than extending the roofline does.

Clips Only, Never Staples or Nails

Everything attaches with purpose-made clips that grip the shingle edge or the gutter lip, so nothing is driven into fascia, shingles or trim, and nothing needs sealing after removal in January. On the 1990s phase that protects fascia with three decades of weather; on the 2016 phase it protects a roof still inside its warranty.

Newer Phases: Roofline Is the Whole Design

On the 2016 streets there is nothing but roofline to work with, so precision carries the entire result. Straight runs, even spacing and terminations exactly at the roof edge are the product rather than a detail, because there is no tree work or established planting to draw the eye elsewhere. Those installs look excellent when measured properly and obviously amateur when not.
