Run your hand across it and you get white residue on your palm. It will not restore the original color. If the siding under that chalk has faded a shade or two lighter than the protected north wall, no cleaner reverses it. Painting or replacing panels does. Not the way we do it. Soft washing uses a cleaning solution at low pressure and lets the chemistry do the work, so nothing is blasting at the lap seams or the wainscot flashing. High pressure on aged vinyl is what cracks brittle panels, drives water behind the wall, and etches the surface into a permanently dull streak. If someone quotes you a pressure wash on this siding, ask what PSI they are running.

It will bring back a clean, even surface, but not the original color. Chalking is the UV-degraded top layer of the vinyl itself. Washing takes off the powder and the dirt stuck in it, which is a real visible improvement on a west wall. If the panels underneath have actually lost pigment, that is a paint or replacement conversation, and we are not going to sell you a wash to fix it.
