Why Mason Creek Landing Screens Grey Out

Screen mesh is a filter, and here it filters irrigation. Silt carried in sprinkler overspray dries in the weave, and because the mesh is rough it holds far more of it than the glass does. Add Canyon County farm dust off the dairy, seed-crop and row-crop ground that still surrounds the city on three sides, plus the harvest traffic that comes with it and pollen and within a season the screen carries a grey load you can see through a freshly cleaned window. We pull each one, wash it flat on a padded surface so the mesh is supported, rinse from both sides, dry it and reseat it in the same opening it came from. Caldwell is one of the few cities in the valley that runs its own irrigation district — the Caldwell Municipal Irrigation District delivers untreated surface water to yards across town, and a lot of the older grid is still on gravity rather than pressure. What reaches the glass is canal water either way. On a Mason Creek Landing property that shows up as a shorter useful interval than the same work would hold somewhere else in the valley, which is worth knowing before you decide how often to book.
