Water in the Common Areas Changes the Sightlines

A pond or water feature means open ground and long uninterrupted views across the middle of the neighbourhood, so homes facing it are seen from much further away than an interior lot would be. That is worth designing around: a roofline read across open water at distance wants strong defined lines rather than fine detail, and it is one of the few Meridian neighbourhoods where the elevation facing the common area may deserve as much attention as the street frontage.
