Holiday Light Installation in Baraya, Meridian, Idaho

Baraya runs about 65 acres between Black Cat and Ten Mile south of Franklin, platted 2016 to 2022 across six phases. The Boise Project canal system runs through this part of southwest Meridian, and a canal bank behind a house changes both what can be lit and how it is reached.

Canal-Side Lots Change the Approach

Homes backing onto a canal bank or a drain easement have a rear boundary nobody can drive equipment along, and often a fence line set well back from the house. That rules out some ground-level lighting positions and it changes how a rear roofline is reached. It also means those homes have an open aspect behind them, so a lit rear elevation is visible from much further away than an interior lot's would be. Worth deciding deliberately whether that side is part of the design rather than defaulting to street-facing only.

Six Phases, Rooflines Six Years Apart

Platted 2016 to 2022, Baraya has homes that are nearly a decade old sitting beside ones barely broken in. All of it is recent enough that the fascia is sound and the gutters are true, which makes for a clean install throughout. The difference shows in landscaping instead: the 2016 phases have trees with enough trunk to take a wrap, while the newest streets are still roofline-only. Which phase you are in genuinely changes what a design can include.

Clips Only, Never Staples or Nails

Everything attaches with purpose-made clips that grip the shingle edge or the gutter lip, so nothing is driven into fascia, shingles or trim, and nothing needs sealing after removal in January. Everything here is new enough to be inside or near its roofing warranty, which is the practical reason clips rather than fasteners are not negotiable.

Southwest Meridian Wind

This side of town has less built shelter than the centre of the city and more open ground to the west, so light runs on exposed elevations want higher clip density at closer spacing than a sheltered interior street needs. It costs a little more labour and it is the difference between a roofline that stays straight through January and a run you are calling about in the second week of December.

Quoting and Booking in Baraya

Holiday lighting is quoted per roofline after we measure, because linear footage and the number of peaks, dormers and returns matter far more than the square footage of the house. The quote covers design, installation, the lights, a timer, mid-season service, January takedown and summer storage. Tell us if you back onto the canal so we plan access before the day rather than discovering it. Meridian books out early, and the best dates go to people who ask in September and October rather than December.

Holiday Light Installation in Baraya — Questions

Still wondering about something? Call or text us at (208) 453-6760.

I back onto the canal. Does that complicate things?

It changes access and opens up a design question. Nobody can drive equipment along a canal bank, and the fence is often set well back. It also means your rear elevation is visible from much further away than an interior lot's, so it is worth deciding deliberately whether to light it.

Can my trees be lit?

Depends on your phase. The 2016 streets have trees with enough trunk to take a wrap; the newest phases are still roofline-only. Baraya spans six phases from 2016 to 2022, so landscaping maturity varies more than roof condition does.

Will the wind pull the lights loose out here?

Not with the right attachment. Southwest Meridian has less built shelter and more open ground west of it, so exposed elevations get higher clip density at closer spacing. That is a deliberate choice rather than a standard install.

Is anything fixed into the roof?

No, clips only, gripping the shingle edge or gutter lip. Everything in Baraya is new enough to be inside or near its roofing warranty, so fasteners are not worth the risk and provide no benefit.

When should I book?

September or October. Meridian fills early and by December the choice is whatever is left. Booking early also means the survey happens in decent weather rather than around a cold snap.
