Two visits a year covers most arrays, and the timing is not arbitrary. The first goes in late June, once the cottonwood has finished its two to three weeks, so you are not pulling fluff off a panel that is about to get fluffed again. The second goes in October, after the smoke clears and the maples drop. That one earns the most, because it sets up the low winter sun. December and January are already Boise's weakest production months, and inversion soot on a module working at a bad angle is where the kilowatt-hours quietly go.
